Boarding school exchange at Léman Manhattan Preparatory school
Léman Manhattan Preparatory School offers an exceptional opportunity for a foreign student interested in studying in the United States. As an International Baccalaureate World School, IB approaches to teaching and learning are integrated throughout Léman’s academic program starting in early childhood, culminating with the Diploma Programme in 11th and 12th grade.
The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year, full-time, academically challenging and balanced program of education that prepares students aged 16 to 19 for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. IB Diploma students are more than 20% more likely to be admitted to the most prestigious universities in the U.S., including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Duke and Stanford.
In this unique urban boarding school community, Léman students are enriched by NYC’s tremendous cultural resources, where a new learning opportunity exists at every turn. Léman students graduate as engaged global citizens, ready for success at top universities and beyond in this increasingly borderless world.
Boarders, who comprise only 10% of Léman Manhattan enrollment, have an opportunity to be part of an elite educational institution in the heart of New York City.
Léman is distinguished by a rigorous academic environment, a wide-ranging sports and activities offering, and — critically — a vibrant, diverse, and international community of students, faculty, and parents. Being part of the community of families especially translates to a drastically different boarding experience.
Léman Manhattan prides itself in being able to leverage the enormous cultural capital of New York City for the benefit of the students. From world class museums and theater, to summer internships at blue-chip corporations and top scientific research institutions, Léman boarders are able to access a remarkably vibrant living and learning experience in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.
ACADEMICS

The IB focuses on building knowledge and skills, and independent, critical, and creative thought to help students make connections between areas of study.
