St. Johnsbury Academy is truly a global community. The schholøs student body of 980 is made up of students from 28 countries, 15 states, and over 40 surrounding communities, making it the most diverse private high school in Vermont.Â
The school is located in a small town in north-eastern Vermont, where the natural beauty of the outdoors lends itself to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding minutes from campus.

ACADEMICS

UNIQUE PROGRAMS
St. Johnsbury Academy offers an extraordinary range of Signature Programs. The Biomedical and Health Sciences Program provides students with a pre-university experience in allied health. In the Academy Culinary Program, accredited by the American Culinary Federation, students learn all aspects of restaurant management and culinary skills.Â
Each year, the Fashion Design Program students enter prestigious design schools all over the world and many continue on to successful careers in the fashion industry. The Design, Innovation, and Engineering Program provides students with pre-university experience in engineering and design. The Field Semester is an opportunity to pursue field-based research in an outdoor setting combined with environmental literacy and natural resource management concepts.

At St. Johnsbury Academy, the campus is busy long after the school day ends. Many sports events, dance recitals, and plays take place on evenings and weekends and always draw a crowd of enthusiastic supporters.
Students can take advantage of the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and tours and events are also organized on weekends. The town of St. Johnsbury is close by for students to visit and enjoy cultural institutions, theaters, and many stores and restaurants.
The Academy also offers a wide range of international trips every year. Previous trips have gone to France, Argentina, Italy, Southeast Asia, India, Ghana, New Zealand, and Hawaii. The trips have become a tradition at the Academy and students who participate in them often find them to be life-changing experiences.
